Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has announced a public meeting regarding a proposed Alternative Treatment Center (ATC) therapeutic cannabis dispensary in Conway, NH, to be operated by Sanctuary ATC. This proposed dispensary location is responsive to Legislative intent and designed to increase patient access to the State’s Therapeutic Cannabis Program (TCP).

The public meeting will be held at 5:30 pm on Thursday, February 14th, at the Conway Public Library, 15 Greenwood Avenue, Conway, NH, 03818. During the public meeting, officials from the DHHS Therapeutic Cannabis Program and representatives from Sanctuary ATC will make brief presentations and answer attendees’ questions.

In 2018, the NH Legislature approved SB388, which approved the establishment of two new therapeutic cannabis dispensaries in areas of the State where access to one of the four established ATCs is limited. The new dispensaries will be operated by Temescal Wellness in Region 3 (representing Cheshire and Sullivan counties) and Sanctuary ATC in Region 4 (representing Carroll, Coos and Grafton counties). Sanctuary ATC currently operates its dispensary in Plymouth.

As part of SB388, DHHS was required to conduct a patient needs assessment to determine locations that would have the greatest impact on patient access. The needs assessment identified the Conway area as a location that would best alleviate the travel burden on TCP patients in Region 4. Information on the needs assessment is included in the Therapeutic Cannabis Program 2018 Data Report Adobe Acrobat Reader Symbol. At least 5 business days’ advance notice is requested in order to assure availability; requests made fewer than 5 days prior to the event will attempt to be accommodated but cannot be guaranteed.
