Medicaid Electronic Health Record Incentive Program

The New Hampshire Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program provides incentive payments to Eligible Professionals and Eligible Hospitals as they demonstrate adoption, implementation, upgrade, or meaningful use of certified EHR technology. This incentive program is designed to support providers during this period of health information technology transition and instill the use of EHRs in meaningful ways to help our nation to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of patient health care.

The New Hampshire Office of Medicaid Services (OMS) is responsible for the implementation of the New Hampshire Medicaid EHR Incentive Program.

Program Year 2021

The Medicaid EHR Incentive Program (known as the CMS Promoting Interoperability Program) will end on December 31, 2021. Because of this, attestations for 2021 will be submitted during 2021.

Program Year 2021 will have abbreviated timelines from which to report EHR and CQM data. The dates for the 90-day EHR, and eCQM, reporting periods must fall between January 1, 2021 and August 1, 2021. Attestations will be accepted from August 2 through September 30, 2021. In addition, additional documentation may need to be submitted for Meaningful Use Objective 1 (Protect Patient Health Information) in 2021. Please refer to the Eligible Professionals page for more information.

The New Hampshire Medicaid Office will not communicate with vendors pertaining to Medicaid EHR Incentive Program attestations. Providers, or designated employees within their practices/organizations, are the only authorized individuals that may attest on behalf of a provider.
