Continuation of the Food Stamp Program Heat & Utility Standard Utility Allowance (SUA) at $584 Through March 31, 2011

SUMMARY

 

This SR releases a continuation of the Food Stamp Program Heat & Utility Standard Utility Allowance (SUA) at $584, through March 31, 2011. Per SR 10-35, dated October 2010, Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) had allowed NH to use a higher SUA deduction for a three-month period, from October through December, at which point the SUA deduction was slated to return to the $493 figure originally released by DFA SR 10-25, also dated October 2010. This SR extends the continuation of the Heat & Utility SUA at the $584 figure for an additional three months, per federal guidance.

 

FORMER POLICY

NEW POLICY

The full Heat & Utility SUA was $584 for a three-month period and, per DFA SR 10-35, this higher figure was slated to return to the originally released $493 figure, in accordance with FNS requirements, on January 1, 2011.

The full Heat & Utility SUA will continue at $584 for an additional three months, through March 31, 2011.

This SR, and revised On-Line Manuals, will be available for agency staff in the On-Line Manual Library, and for public access on the Internet at www.dhhs.nh.gov/DFA/publications.htm, effective January 31, 2011. Additionally, this SR, and printed pages with posting instructions, will be distributed under separate cover to all internal hard copy holders of the Food Stamp Manual.
