NH Foster Care Agencies
NH child placing agencies are licensed to recruit, train and recommend foster families for licensure to the Division for Children, Youth and Families. Foster Families who choose to work with a private agency must adhere to the foster family care licensing rules and additional requirements of the agency.

NH RSA 170-E:24-49 governs the operation of child-placing agencies. A child placing agency means any firm, corporation or association that:

  • Receives any child for the purpose of providing services related to arranging for the placement of children in a foster family home, group home or child care institution;
  • Receives any child for the purpose of providing services related to arranging for the placement of children in adoption.
