NHH Patient Rights
New Hampshire Hospital (NHH) policy and the law guarantee your rights as a patient. Some of these basic rights include the right to dignity and respect, the right to be free of abuse and neglect, the right to confidentiality and the right to a healthy environment.
Patients have the right to receive or refuse visitors, send and receive mail, and have regular access to the private use of a telephone. They have the right to wear their own clothing and to keep their own things as space permits.
These are just some of the rights guaranteed to patients at New Hampshire Hospital. Some rights may be limited if the patient has a guardian or if needed to maintain the safety of the patient and other patients at the hospital.

If you have a question, concern or complaint, you have the right to speak up without fear of punishment. You can also complain about your treatment or conditions at the hospital. If you have a concern or complaint, you may speak to your case manager, unit nurse or you may call the Patient Rights Investigators at (603) 271-5918.
