MEDIA ADVISORY: NH DCYF Recognizes June as National Reunification Month

Celebrations to be held throughout the month across the State, kickoff event to be held in Manchester on June 8

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Division for Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) are celebrating National Reunification Month during the month of June. Reunification Month recognizes the achievements of families as they successfully reunify with their children after placement in foster care.

“There are families involved with us who work incredibly hard to safely and successfully reunify with their children after an out-of-home placement,” said DCYF Director Joe Ribsam. “Reunification takes time, commitment, and partnership to be successful, and we’re proud of our parent partners across the state who have achieved this milestone in their families.”

The inaugural event will be held in Manchester on Wednesday, June 8, at Life Church, 150 Dow Street, from 5-7 p.m., and will be the first of several across the state throughout the month. The event is open to the press. No registration is required.
