Substance-Misuse Planning and Evaluation
The Substance-Misuse Planning and Evaluation (SPE) unit within the Bureau of Program Quality is responsible for leading substance misuse related quality assurance and improvement activities across the Department of Health and Human Services and with external stakeholders.
Utilizing data for Continuous Quality Improvement:
- Identifying and utilizing data that outlines the prevalence and impact of different types of substance misuse on clients served by DHHS, on various populations across the state, and in particular areas of the state;
- That Identifies coexisting health and social conditions that may be perpetuating the misuse of alcohol and drugs and collectively exacerbating many of the client issues being addressed by DHHS program areas;
- To assist DHHS program areas in identifying evaluation methodologies and in monitoring elements of policies, strategies and programming that are critically important to service quality and outcomes;
- To assist DHHS program areas in utilizing data to evaluate contractor performance, track client outcomes and improve the quality and effectiveness of policies, strategies and programming.
