Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has announced that Sanctuary ATC has received a registration certificate to begin operations at its new dispensary location in Conway. Sanctuary expects the Conway dispensary will open to qualifying patients and designated caregivers on Saturday, July 6, 2019.

In 2018, the NH Legislature approved SB388 in order to make access and travel to an ATC easier for participants in the State’s Therapeutic Cannabis Program (TCP). SB388 enabled the establishment of an additional therapeutic cannabis dispensary in Region 3 (representing Cheshire and Sullivan counties) and in Region 4 (representing Carroll, Coos and Grafton counties). An additional dispensary location in Region 3 is in development.

As part of SB388, DHHS was required to conduct a patient needs assessment, which determined that a dispensary in the Conway area would best alleviate the travel burden on TCP patients in Region 4. Information on the needs assessment is included in the Therapeutic Cannabis Program 2018 Data Report Adobe Acrobat Reader Symbol.

Since the Therapeutic Cannabis Program began serving patients in 2016, there has been continuous growth in patient access. At the end of 2018, 7,120 qualifying patients and 449 designated caregivers were participating in the program, and currently there are approximately 8,000 registered patients.

Qualifying patients currently registered with Sanctuary ATC in Plymouth will be able to access both dispensary locations and will not have to register separately for the Conway location.

Applications for potentially qualifying patients and designated caregivers, medical provider certification, and other important information can be downloaded from the Therapeutic Cannabis Program page at www.dhhs.nh.gov/oos/tcp/.
